Politically Incorrect

Wow.  it’s been a while.

Photo caption post:

We stumbled across this courtyard during our Saturday walk. Circus puppies.

re-creating our Christmas 2010 card. Although not as well-dressed.

As promised, we ate pancakes Saturday & Sunday at Bobs. I was reading my kindle in this photo and really not that sad.

I love buckwheat pancakes that I don’t have to make.

Joel took this of me reading in the park. I included this to let you all know that I love my Kindle. You were right. I read a lot. I’ve read 10 books in the last 3 weeks.

Ben Nevis has taken to retreating to the bathroom for some much-needed privacy.

A sort of awkward photo but I wanted to demonstrate just how small the shower is. As you know I am reluctant to bathe normally so you can imagine how my hygiene has deteriorated. You may also note that we are doing laundry.

Again, to demonstrate the ceiling height. Good news! We move Wednesday. We will miss this apartment, our landlord, and neighborhood but look forward to fewer head bumps.

Last apartment photo. This is why I haven’t been cooking more. I also think I dress like I am in a coloring book. Or a cartoon character.

Picnic in the park on Saturday with live music. The weather has just been perfect.

A beautiful coffee stop on Sunday’s chilly morning walk. Felt like the set of a movie. On Il de St. Louis.

The dogs at our coffee shop. A note: The dogs have been very obedient, quiet, flexible and just all around wonderful. We can’t believe how well they have adjusted.

We reserved a table for brunch on Sunday at Helmut Newcake. Helmut is the only gluten-free restaurant in town and I was able to eat most of the food (except the dessert because of sugar.) It was such a treat to eat freely and the food was delicious. Plus we had a prime seat outside.

Nice view at brunch.

We needed to do laundry. Our place is tiny. It looks like clothes have completely taken over. Also a mystery: the washer literally takes 7 hours. What could it be doing?

The line to french class this morning. Class was good but long. It’s been a while since I’ve used the learning part of my brain.

Off to the first day of school!

In class. Note the name on the board. Not pictured: the very politically incorrect exercise where we identified nationalities by stereotyped cartoons.

Lunch in the park after class. I was wiped but the lunch was delicious.

That’s all for today. Class tomorrow, move Wednesday. Health has been OK. Some symptoms are improving but some are worse. In generally I still feel very weak a lot of the time and need to rest for most of the day.
